Trying to Connect the Dinner Plate to Climate Change – New York Times

Becoming a vegetarian is more effective in combatting global warming than switching from an SUV to a Camry.

In India, grandma cooks, they deliver

This article is absolutely intriguing, and I wish I would have read it earlier. I was especially stricken by the fact that they also return the dishes, which is a wonderful way to conserve resources. At $123/month, which is enough to raise a wife and two children on, I’m wondering how this compares to other “walla” jobs. I know the dabiwalla cleaned clothes when I was there.
Also, how many spellings can there possibly be for the city of Gurgaon?

MO Stats

// August 29th, 2007

Read the stats at the link below, then read my comments.

Rasmussen Report: Missouri Toplines

1. If your “poor” rating is worse than Governor Blunt’s, people REALLY hate you: when Matt Blunt showed up at a Blues game I attended, people audibly booed, and continued to do so for over three minutes after his image was quickly removed from the screen. I wonder what would happen if Bush were to attend? (Hockey fans are notoriously drunk and violent!)

2. I bet that Jay Nixon will trounce Matt Blunt by at least 5 points. And Eric, I bet you won’t take this bet, because you are hoping for the same.

3. As the brother of a cancer patient, I hope Missouri’s elected officials pay close attention to the statistics listed under #6.

4. Missouri politicians should take note of #10 and #12 as well.

5. 37% of the people in Missouri are absolutely imbecilic, and should not be allowed to operate motor vehicles, or extend their lineage (as per #13)

6. #7, #8 and #11 are really funny. Read them again if you didn’t notice before.

my 2 cents,
Jonthon

In New York, a Word Starts a Fire – washingtonpost.com

intifada?  I mean, sure, I see why people are offended.  But I also see why they should respect her freedom to support the freedoms of others.  It seems like the dissenters here have picked the wrong target…

YouTube – Giuliani Gets Exposed As Fraud by Firefighters

Not that I was voting for him anyway, but here’s the reason no one else should.

See Whos Editing Wikipedia – Diebold, the CIA, a Campaign

Tis confirms suspicions I already had – that companies are editing their own wikipedia entries, either to add pr-like accounts or to delete information that shows them in a bad light.  A site that tracks the IP of anonymous posters to their host allows us to figure all of this out.
