Among their many benefits, this study shows that users of psilocybin tend to have life-altering experiences that they rank in their top five of most important events they have experienced.  They also reported, months later, to being calmer, more peaceful people, which they ascribed to the use of ’shrooms.

Pepsi and Coke in India Victory

This decision saddens me deeply.  I was discussing PepsiCos despicable actions in India to someone just the other day in terms of water wars…it is defeating to know that as the law system of India continues to build itself into a purposeful entity, it continues to become more pro-business, more America.

Half-ton of bomb material stored a few miles from the White House

The same chemical used in the Oklahoma City bombing was purchased in mass quantities and stored only a mile from the white house. This is legal because big farm lobbies, with which the administration is very friendly, decided that money was more important than safety.

(Kudos to Jim matheny, my J-school colleague, for making this happen over his summer internship.)

Update: this video details more fully what Jim was up to. This is quality investigative Journalism.
