Man Accused Of Trying To Kill Estranged Wife At Metro East Hotel
MARYVILLE, Ill. (AP) — A Kansas City man is accused of trying to kill his estranged wife by stabbing her at a Maryville, Ill., hotel.
Eric Thompson, 27, was arrested Tuesday at his home on charges of attempted first-degree murder and armed violence. Thompson’s bond is set at $1 million.

Maryville police responded early Saturday to a report of a dispute involving a couple at an Econo Lodge. They arrived to find Elizabeth Walker, 24, on the parking lot with multiple stab wounds.
She since has been released from a hospital.
The “estranged wife” in question is my friend Beth Walker. Having been stabbed 11 times, she is doing fine now. Interestingly enough, this same guy told Beth she was not to hang out with me any more because he didn’t trust me, even though Beth and my friendship has never been anything more than plutonic. She chose to cut me out of her life at that point, but called me about a year later to apologize when they got divorced. And a year later, he does this. I feel bad for her. I hope he goes away forever, and she moves in the meanwhile…
