Jon'thon ..  how can you call yourself a Gen-Yer and still be putting two spaces after your  periods?? I thought that convention died along with the typewriter ..

Yes, double-spaces after a period was appropriate on typewriters, where you were dealing with fixed-width letterspace. When WYSIWYG word processors overwhelmed typewriters in the 80s this practice(along with some others) was no longer necessary. Besides that, I have a personal crusade against this because whenever people older than 40 send me text files to be converted to HTML (which is common), I almost *always* have to do a find/replace process on the document to remove all the double-spaces, because if I don't, Dreamweaver will add non-breaking spaces in there and that is a major pain.

My revenge will be to outlive them.
