While there, I was struck with a very sickening feeling. Hearing people organize, chant, beat drums, clap in rhythm - for PEACE! I was torn because I'm glad to see it happen, but at the same time I never thought it would in my lifetime. Maybe my hopes were held too high. I grew up thinking that since the Cuban Missile Crises, we'd never have to worry about mass-scale war again. I knew already I was wrong, but today evinced that feeling in a very visceral way. People are ready to fight for peace.
