1/29/2005 12:42:09 PM|||Jonthon||| I took the GRE the other day. Actually, I took two practice tests, then I took the actual GRE. And it was weird, what happened. The first time I took it, I got 550v + 630q = 1180 (out of 1600). The next morning, which was the day before I was scheduled to take the test, I got a 540v + 690q = 1230. My final score was 530v + 700q = 1230, which is a pretty good score.
Now here's where I get befuddled. I am a Journalism major, a linguistics minor, and a recipient of the dictionary.com word of the day, but I mustered an embarrasing 530 on the verbal section. And it went DOWN each time I took the test! Contrarily, even though I've had no math for 5 years, my quantative score continually ROSE to a final score of 700 (out of 800 possible).
I take this to mean that I have a really good processor, and I ought to feed it more.
Or I could blog. (sounds of another dime clinking in tray.)
